Fault codes / P2509
SAE: ECM power input intermittent. We do not have a parts card for this code, so no invented OEM. On 24V Howo it is usually posts, main relay, ignition switch or an ECU pin.
Which trucks see it
Howo, Shacman, Weichai when the engine dies like the key was turned. Often next to P0562 and U-codes.
Symptoms
- dies then restarts
- random CAN that clears
- relay clicks on bumps
Likely causes
- Battery posts and grounds.
- ECM main relay / ignition.
- Pin at the ECU plug.
- Crank voltage sag — see P0562.
What to check
- Wiggle grounds with it running — carefully.
- Measure at the ECU plug when it dies, not only at the battery.
- Relays/fuses.
- Do not replace the ECU on a one-off after a jump.
Can you keep driving
One-off after a jump — drive. Repeat stalls — do not night-run it. No ECU swap until power is proven.
